How To Get Started

Please study and prepare to have your Class A learners permit before your start date!! You will be taking the following tests Air Brakes, Combinations, General Knowledge, we also recommend taking your Tankers Endorsement.

• If you are 21 or older you can get your Class A learners permit in the state your Driver’s license is in.  We will do your skills test here.
• If you’re under 21 you will need to transfer your residency to Idaho, please allow for a few business days to do so before your start date.
• You will do this at the DMV in Burley ID. Idaho requires you to retake your Class D test to transfer your residency. After transferring your residency and taking Class D test. You will be ready to take Class A CDL learner’s permit.

What Documents do I need for the DMV

• Official US Birth Certificate
• Motor Vehicle Report (3-year driving history)
• Driver’s License (requirement 1 year of having a driver’s license in order to take the learners permit for Class A CDL)
• Housing contract/RV invoice of where you are staying.
• An invoice from Prime Line Academy (You will receive this once tuition is paid.)
